Take a tour behind the scenes of Europe’s biggest cinema !

For many years, audiences have longed to go behind the scenes at the Grand Rex, not only to uncover the secrets of this truly unique cinema but also to venture to the other side of the screen, to places that until now have been the preserve of industry professionals. In 1998, the Art Deco cinema and listed building, le Grand Rex, created an exciting new tour called Rex Studios !

Our Rex Studios interactive audio-guided tour takes you on an imaginary journey behind the scenes of film production and invites you into the secret and captivating world of cinema as you follow the making of a film from various perspectives: the projection booth, a director’s office, the film set…

Rex Studios has something for everyone. Whether film buffs, occasional cinema-goers or simply tourists, visitors of all ages can discover the world of cinema on this exciting and educational tour, all in a stunning and magical setting.

It’s also a unique opportunity to discover and explore the interior of a French cultural heritage monument: rich in history and with its original 1932 decor still intact.

A perfect destination for school trips, the tour serves as a fun introduction to cinema studies.

In addition to the Rex Studios, visiting the Grand Rex with a guide (1h):

The history of this palace last film was unveiled during a visit that invites you to a unique exploration of its architecture and its scenes. Visit the Europe’s largest movie theater listed on the Inventory of Historical Monuments: the guide will tell you more about the history, the architecture, anecdotes … and his legendary stage!

Guided tour available all year in English, French or Spanish.

 

Practical information:

Interactive tour, open throughout the year:

On Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and on public holidays: 10am – 6pm

During French school holidays:

Monday 2pm – 6pm and Tuesday-Sunday 10am – 6pm

Tours depart every 5 minutes and last for 50 minutes.

This tour runs throughout the year and is suitable for all visitors over the age of 5 years old (please note that the route is not accessible for wheelchair-users).

Audio-guided tour available in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German and Russian.
