Marina © Office de Tourisme de St Martin

The Climate:

The island benefits from a tropical climate and its sheltered all year round from the trade winds with temperatures of between 27°C and a maximum of 34°C. For their part, sea temperatures range between 26°C and 30°C

The beaches:

37 beaches of white sand and crystal clear waters that let visitors party, take the family or venture off to explore the local flora and fauna according to how the mood takes them.

An ideal destination for:

St. Martin is the only Franco-Dutch island in the Caribbean and is wonderfully cosmopolitan, welcoming all peoples and cultures. The ideal destination for honeymooning couples thanks to its comfortable and charming hotels and high-end accommodation that are perfect for relaxing or exploring the island. People flock here also for the beauty of its beaches, which also welcome lovers of water sports and nautical activities.

At night, you can discover a « wild » ambiance that has earned it the nickname of the Caribbean Saint-Tropez. A magical and enchanting venue, it is an island of contrasts that brings together different nations, populations, languages, currencies, beaches, restaurants, festivities: in St. Martin everything comes together in excess.

The island of St. Martin boasts an extremely diverse tourism offer. Because of this, couples without kids and families alike can find something that suits them.

Island canes rum

Distilled and bottled in St. Martin according to the strict rules governing the distillation of French rum, this is a rum from Saint-Martin created using a carefully selected blend of spirits from neighbouring French islands and, in particular, from Guadeloupe, producing a unique rum with all the flavour of the “Friendly Island”. After it is blended and aged on site in the pure artisan tradition, its bottling and distribution are taken care of by Lisa, Valérie, Christophe and Olivier, who first had the crazy idea of making this drink just 6 months ago. Having settled on the island a few years earlier, the four of them threw themselves into this project 100%. Firstly, they sought the help of an expert they knew in order to learn how to blend this spirit, discovering the recipes and precise doses needed to guarantee the success of their rum.

St. Martin Carnival

In St. Martin there is always twice the fun and double the pleasure, so prepare yourself to enjoy the Carnival on the Dutch side with colourful mega-parades and breath-taking concerts!

From 22nd January to 10th February, come and experience the life of Carnival culture in the French side of St. Martin, followed by the Carnival on the Dutch side during April.

This is an unmissable moment of the year when the inhabitants of the town come out in costume (or in masks or make-up) and get together to sing, dance, make music in the streets, throw confetti and enjoy the parade.

La Course de l’Alliance

An exceptional regatta with a festive ambiance!

Launched in 2003, La Course de l’Alliance was an initiative of the Marina Fort Louis and the Yacht Club Fort Louis, situated in St. Martin SXM, which aims to reinforce the links between Saint Martin, Sint Maarten, St. Bart’s and Anguilla. And what a success: every year, in November, the 4 yacht clubs of each of these islands organise a high-quality race, allowing sailors to explore Saint-Martin and its neighbouring islands and, at the same time, providing a real spectacle thanks to the vast array of yachts in competition.
