Playful and creative, vibrant and young, Nantes has been totally turned upside down by art, making the city a perfect destination for a weekend break with a direct flight (under 90 minutes) from the UK.

The artsy city of Nantes on the banks of the River Loire has often been praised for its quality of life and is a healthy, green city offering thousands of hectares of green space. It has an important maritime and river history, a pedestrianised centre and plenty of smart shops to browse.

This month, (re)discover Nantes with our partners’ recommendations.
