MasterTemplate

Do you fancy exploring enchanting regions of France from its great waterways?

Discover one of the most relaxing and luxurious ways to explore France, cruising its beautiful canals and rivers in style aboard a Belmond Afloat in France péniche- hotel. There is no better way to enjoy the splendour of France than cruising, where the landscape is stunning, the food and the wine are delicious and the locals are warm and welcoming. Calling these waterways home are five luxury barges, or péniche- hotel as they are known locally, Belmond Afloat in France: Belmond Alouette, Belmond Amaryllis, Belmond Fleur de Lys, Belmond Hirondelle and Belmond Napoléon.

Cruise along some of France’s most scenic waterways from the picture postcard towns and historic sites along the Canal du Midi to the vineyards and villages of Burgundy and its fine wines, or the culture and charm of Provence.

Moreover, luxury travel operator Belmond Afloat in France has launched a Wine Academy which can be added to a bespoke itinerary. The activities are led by a local expert who can tailor the Academy’s ‘education des vins’ activities accordingly, from introductory level to those who are budding wine collectors. The Wine Academy will include an immersive programme of talks to inspire the exploration of Burgundy and its most precious asset.

For example, throughout the cruise, an introductory session with 11 different wines during lunch at Chateau LeFlaive, followed by a blind tasting at Chateau Pommard. Other highlights include Cremant tasting.
