Base-camping at the Rugby World Cup

In line with RWC 2023’s ambition of minimising the tournament’s carbon footprint, train is the preferred option for travelling between the host cities – and France’s recent ban on short-haul domestic flights makes this even more compelling.

Other destinations are acting as base camps for the teams, optimising travel based on their pool-phase matches: Avignon for Uruguay, for example, and Tours for Ireland. Why not consider exploring these during the tournament (8 September–28 October)? Here is the list of base camps of your favorite teams:

Scotland : Nice (Région Sud)

Ireland : Tours (Centre-Val de Loire)

England : Le Touquet-Paris-Plage (Hauts-de-France)
