Wine appreciation workshop at the hotel de l’Abbaye

In the countryside between Rennes and Saint-Malo, on the outskirts of the small town of Tronchet, the Hôtel de l’Abbaye is located on the site of a former Benedictine abbey, a building from the XVII Century that has discovered a new life as a 4* hotel. The complex was extended with a contemporary building that is perfectly integrated, creating a vast and harmonious ensemble. Vestiges of its rich past, such as the cloister, hand-cut granite features, exposed beams, the fireplaces and a number of staircases from the period have been preserved. In the heart of 3 hectares of greenery and flanked by the golf course of Saint-Malo – Le Tronchet, the hotel – listed as a Relais du Silence – offers you a break in perfect tranquillity.

The restaurant at the hotel, « Le Jardin de l’Abbaye », serves bistro-gastronomy cuisine accompanied by a fine selection of wines from the Loire. Wine appreciation takes pride of place at this establishment as the proprietor, Jean-Louis Saget, is a wine producer in the Loire at the Saget la Perrière winery. Wine appreciation workshops are arranged to explore Sancerre, Pouilly, Coteau du Layon… A meticulous and rigorous selection is made by the Hôtel de l’Abbaye alongside the Saget winery, ensuring that these wines can be enjoyed in an exceptional setting that is elegant and comfortable. This establishment also has a wide range of products available to buy.
